Dr. Kenneth L. Mills
Pastor Ken is the Lead Pastor of the Shippensburg Church of the Nazarene.
From Eastern Nazarene College he graduated with a major in Psychology in 1966 and a minor in biblical literature. He graduated from Nazarene Theological Seminary in 1969 and was ordained as an Elder in the Church of the Nazarene in 1971. Later, he pursued a Doctor of Ministry degree while pastoring in Massachusetts, taking classes at Gordon Conwell Seminary, and then graduating from Boston University in 1979.
Prior to his ministry here in Shippensburg, he served as district superintendent of the Mid-Atlantic District for the Church of the Nazarene for nineteen years, having moved to the Mid-Atlantic District from the New England District where he also served as a district superintendent for five years. Before being elected as district superintendent in New England he pastored the Community Chapel Church of the Nazarene in Nashua, NH, and previous to that assignment served as pastor of the Peabody/Danvers, MA Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Ken actually started his ministry as a pastor in Newton Falls, Ohio, and then served as a youth pastor in two churches, Canton, Ohio First Church of the Nazarene and Nashville, TN First Church of the Nazarene.
Pastor Ken was born in Western Pennsylvania (Rochester), grew up in Virginia (Richmond and Petersburg areas), and went to High School in Ashtabula, Ohio. He is the husband to Patti (whom he met in college) and they have three children. Kenneth Jr. (who is the oldest child) is married to Kathy and they have three children (Emylie, Aidan, and Jarrod). Kristen, their single daughter lives in Johnston, Vermont, and is an artist (in every sense of the word)! Their youngest daughter Kerri married Jared Lewis and they are presently living in Cape Girardeau, MO. They have two children, Jayce and Bryanna.
